In people with type 2 diabetes, CagriSema reduced weight by 13.7% at 68 weeks, compared with 3.4% on placebo; the estimated difference was −10.4 percentage points (95% CI, −11.2 to −9.5; p < 0.001). Of those treated, 73.5% reached an HbA1c of 6.5% or less, compared with 15.9% on placebo. As in other trials, weight loss was smaller than in people without diabetes.

Limitations

Funded by Novo Nordisk. No active comparator (it was not compared with semaglutide alone). The product was not approved in any country as of the review date.
