Holiday and Christmas recipes: light dishes with protein
Recipes for Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's, and Three Kings Day for when you eat little: an appetizer board, shrimp cocktail, Spanish picadillo soup, turkey in sauce, New Year's lentils, a light pozole, a yogurt and fruit dessert, and a Three Kings breakfast. Every one puts protein first, in small portions and mostly soft textures, and none has alcohol or anything fried. They follow the order of a holiday meal: starters, mains, dessert, and finally the morning of January 6.
The numbers on each card are per serving and are not eyeballed: they add up the per-100 g values of each ingredient in the food database, which come from USDA FoodData Central. If you take a GLP-1 medication and fill up fast, start each plate with the protein and leave the sides for last.
